MORRIS GERSHENGORIN
REAL RESTORATION
Though his name has not yet been equated to the restoration market in Chicago, he is the man behind the company so many know; a company Chicago residents have gotten to trust – Real Restoration. Morris Gershengorin is a Chicago native, born in Mt. Sinai in the North side of the city at Rogers Park. From an early age he developed an interest for home restoration. He learned everything he knows from his father, who is still in the business to this day. Morris called the elder Gershengorin, an “amazing teacher” and an “inspiration.” After many years of apprenticeship, Morris decided to create a path of his own. Shortly after, he began working on his company Real Restoration and incorporated it in 2011. The company profile covers the entire range of restoration clientele. From prestigious clients like Freddie Mac and Oak Park Residents, to high profile figures like Scott Duby, and community leaders such as Rabbi Levi Notik. Real Restoration has proved to be instrumental to a fair share of encounters with notable Chicago figures. They, however, do not turn away from those in need. Real Restoration takes a pride in assisting low-income families during trying times. When asked what projects he was most proud of, Gershengorin stated that it was the ones in which families had lost most of their belongings, sometimes a pet, and sometimes even a loved one. It is through the capacity of being able to transform people’s hardships to new beginnings that Gershengorin feels pride and accomplishment. Real Restoration feels a strong sense of duty when it comes to giving back tot the community, which is a sentiment that guides their work. Ever year Real Restoration donates a free home makeover to a family in need. Gershengorin believes in his community and giving back to it as much as possible. He has provided an abundance of probono work and restoration to Chabad in Chicago. Mr. Gershengorin is highly involved with a number of different charities, most notably F.R.E.E., The Anti-Defamation League, JUF, and most recently the Ronald McDonald Foundation. As a board member of F.R.E.E. he contributes a large amount of time to both the organization and growing the different platforms within it. It is these principles that have led Real Restoration to become the company it is; a company people trust in, a company people believe in. When asked what he sees in his company’s future, Mr. Gershengorin responded by saying, “Rapid growth, innovation, and the ability to touch many different levels of society and income brackets along with those in desperate need of help.” For Real Restoration and Morris Gershengorin it seems that this is merely the tip of the iceberg.
